The Licking Land Trust is looking for students (ages 14 to 17) to serve as Youth Conservation Ambassadors beginning April of 2022. This 8-month program is aimed to engage motivated and energetic youth that have an appreciation for the outdoors and protecting the environment. Youth Conservation Ambassadors will serve as leaders to promote conservation awareness with their peers. This program will help students set the course for their future and protect our lands.
Goals & Objectives
Participate in conservation projects, gaining valuable experience working with experts in the field of environmental science.
Assist in volunteer projects such as maintaining trails, planting trees, removing invasive species.
Use personal social media networks to share their experience.
Ambassadors will highlight recreational opportunities in Licking County.
Act as a liaison with youth-related organizations (school districts, girl/boy scouts, 4-H).
Contribute social media content promoting Licking County.
Eligibility Requirements
Minimum B average
At least 14 years of age at the start of enrollment and must not graduate from high school before completion of the program
Be a resident of Licking County
Demonstrate interest in land conservation
Proficient with social media
Excellent writing skills, demonstrated by a 1 page essay about what would make him/her a good Youth Conservation Ambassador
